As a performer I am interested in the pre-expressive and performative practices related to human voice and movement improvisation, rhythm, notion of flow, animation, materiality, new materiality, space, interspatiality, intervals and pockets, liminality and simultaneous gestures and modes of commanding and surrendering.
I enjoy working as a part of creative collectivity or in vividly interconnected organisational structures. I have had a privilege to be part of many different light structured artistic research and sharing groups in Helsinki most resent being PRECARIOUS PRACTICES - collective that is organized around the notion of viewing artistic practices and practicing as a mode of artistic work. One of my own initiatives in recent years has been a reading group TOISINAJATTELIJAT that brought together academics and artist to share a conversation on topics such as gender politics, post-humanism, power structures and politics of movement. TOISINAJATTELIJAT reading circle will continue in fall 2020 with the idea of introducing a more phenomenological approach to the read texts and to grow the expertise of freelance dance/performance artists as philosophical interpreters and guides to experience the texts in a more embodied and/or performative way.
I hope to be able to both work as a performer for other makers and to continue my own artistic processes in a collaboration and conversation with other artists.
